Student Opinion on Bullying

Bullying

Bullying in today’s society has grown over the years.  But not all people who bully students or children do it to make themselves happy – they do it to release the pain they have during their years of being under 18.

It may be abuse at home from a parent, abuse of drugs, or maybe their way of crying out for help because inside they are lonely and waiting for someone to help them. People don’t deserve to be “slammed in lockers,” being called out with another name, and even things that are posted on social media.

There are better ways of handling situations.  Instead of suspending these students that we call bullies, maybe we need to sit down and hear what they go through or are possibly feeling.  Try to help them understand that no one is truly alone in this world.  There is always someone who will help you grow into a better person than you once were.

Seeking counseling for students could truly make a difference in their lives and how they will turn out in this world.  This process might not work for every student but even if it helps one person, it can change their life.
